Kitty

Not only am I excited to be back from vacation, I am even more excited to be back capturing thoughtful images of people and their family pets. Here is Jackie and her cat "Kitty". Kitty is so cute and Jackie is so pretty, that finding several gorgeous moments was no problem at all. The more feline photography portraits I shoot, the more I want a cat. Unfortunately Freddy, my 14 year young Cockatiel, considers my home his nest...all of it! So for now, spending time with clients cats will have to do.

Lola and Hedgy

What happens when a hedgehog meets a pug puppy...a standoff! After Lola finished her photoshoot we went inside to capture Hedgy. However, this became difficult once Lola realised she was not the center of attention any longer. Although we successfully finished both sessions, I was definitely looking forward to a tall glass of juice to quench my thirst. Both of them were entertaining and a blast to work with.

We will miss you Heidi, rest in peace!

Last Saturday, June 26th 2010, my family and I made the hardest decision that we ever made as a unit. The decision was to have our family pet, Heidi, euthanized. The day of her passing came today, July 2nd 2010 at 11:45am. In the coming days and weeks I will elaborate on her truly heroic life. But for now, I have decided to post an image of us and say thank you Heidi for over 17 years of love and kindness. The image was taken yesterday at my parents house. There is Heidi, me, momma, poppa and Freddy (our 14 year old cockatiel).

Grumpy Smurf

Yes, is very cute. However, he had just about enough of my camera following him around that afternoon. Although he was tiny and rather fragile, I did not want to get on his bad side. So, shortly after this portrait of him doing his 'Grumpy Smurf' impression, we called it a day. Like many of the newborns I photograph, he has no name yet; any ideas?

A fine line

During a break capturing moments of her little one, I decided to follow momma around. Apparently she is an exceptional field mouse trapper...and walks a fine line when desperate. Although I never did find out if she was successful, I did have plenty of fun playing with her kitten "Precious".

Touchdown for Lucy!

It was such a pleasure capturing her liveliness. Lucy was not just all show...she had a lot of go! However, the soccer ball may have to be retired after this session in her back yard.

A little too cocky for me!

WOW, this guy was struttin' and stompin' all over the yard. We were not sure if he was excited to get his portrait taken or if he was politely saying "get off my turf". Either way, we were able to get Don several portraits of "Pee-Yew". Don would also like some portraits of his other pets, including his runner ducks. I am excited and will post a few when I get the call!
